There are many different ways of making money online. To increase your chance of success in running a home based internet business or just plain, making money online, you must first have a set of objectives. The three objectives listed below are absolutely necessary to be successful.

Setting Goals
Before you start, you must first set goals for yourself. It is not enough to stay I want to start a home based internet business or make money online. That is not a goal, it is a desire. A goal has to be something tangible. Something that will motivate you when you are facing the challenges of running a home based business. A tangible goal should be, I want to start making money online so that I can use that additional income to pay my monthly car payment or I want to start a work from home online business so that I can spend more time with my family.
Once you come up with a tangible goal, you should write it down. As obvious has this might sound, a lot of people do not write down their goals. Instead they tend to keep it in their heads which is not good because as time passes this goal will change and you will loose your focus. Writing down your goals is powerful because it will keep you on the right track.
Decide How Much Money You want to Make
Decide on how much money you want to make per week or per month. You must be specific and come up with an actual number. For instance, I want to make $200 per week, $1200 per month or $5000 per month.
Again, once you have decided on a figure, write it down. This will help you to make it more real in your mind as if you are already earning the money with your internet business. Do not underestimate this step; it can be the difference between success and failure.
Do a Thorough Research
Finally, make sure you do a thorough research and do not sign up for the first internet business opportunity or any get rich quick scheme you come across. Always look further into each opportunity thoroughly. See if you can get additional information on what others are saying about any program you are considering. Ask question on blogs and forums.
Also, watch out for making money online scams and look for credible testimonies. If you think it sounds too good to be true, it probably it not true. Any program you sign up with should teach you about internet marketing first and also show you how to develop long term skills before you attempt to promote anything or join any affiliate programs.
